Dispensing Process Overview

Dispensing is the process of applying adhesive or sealant to products that require encapsulation, serving to fix and seal them.

Traditional dispensing is typically performed by operators using manual glue guns or dispensing needles, controlling the flow rate and position of the adhesive by hand. This approach is only suitable for simple dispensing tasks and small-scale production, and cannot guarantee dispensing success rates or improve dispensing speed.

Automated dispensing uses automated equipment such as robots to apply adhesive. Through programming and precision control, it achieves high-accuracy, high-efficiency dispensing and is commonly used for mass production and complex dispensing requirements.

Dispensing Applications: Classification & Functions

Dispensing applications can be classified by form into: 5-axis linked precision dispensing, high-speed dispensing machines, inline/benchtop dispensing machines, and robotic-arm dispensing.

Dispensing equipment can be subdivided by function into actuating mechanisms, driving mechanisms and control systems:

  • The actuating mechanism is responsible for performing the dispensing operation.

  • The driving mechanism helps the actuating mechanism complete the dispensing operation with greater precision and quality.

  • The control system manages the overall system.

iNexBot Dispensing Workstation Overview

Developed entirely in-house by iNexBot, this complete fully automatic dispensing system solution is offered to customers. Dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable automatic dispensing equipment for 3C manufacturing and automotive electronics, the workstation comprises a vision module, a safety component module, a dispensing valve module and a sensor module. Glue application is controlled via PLC/PWM/IO.

The workstation supports automatic nozzle wiping, automatic needle alignment and automatic calibration, with glue-path control accuracy down to 0.001 mm.

iNexBot Dispensing Procedure

The typical dispensing procedure of the iNexBot workstation is:

Power on → manual start → place workpiece → vision inspection of workpiece position → start dispensing → finish dispensing → vision inspection of dispensed result → dispensing complete.
